徕卡72是采用18x24mm格式的相机，于1954至1957年分别在加拿大及德国生产。此机菲林计算器读数可至75，取景窗口为直檔，机顶位置刻有「18x24」及「Germany」字样。此款相机生产年期较短，有关资料可参阅James Lager Vol.I p.78。
