Leica 72 18x24mm Midland

Leica 72 is a 18x24mm format camera which was produced in 1954-1957 in Canada and Germany. Only 150 units of Leica 72 Midland with batch number 357301 - 357450 were produced in Canada. The top plate engraved with “18x24” and “Midland Ontario” (Please refer to James Lager Vol. I p.78). This camera comes with Summarit 1.5/5cm lens (#1246991) made by Leitz Canada. Number ring engraved with “Ernst Leitz Canada Ltd. Midland”. The Summarit 1.5/5cm was one of the first Leitz lenses to be final assembled by Leitz Canada in 1952/1953. (Please refer to James Lager Vol. II p.50). A chrome XOONS hood with clamping screw which has never seen, was included. This outfit comes with body cover, both lens caps and 4 pieces color filters as well.
