白奇楠為奇楠中的上上品，氣味香甜清涼怡人。白奇楠含有活性組織，味道不論持久性還是擴散性皆為奇楠之最。因其奇香無比、香味持久、數量稀少，是自古以來的「眾香之首」，也是自然界中極少具有的抗菌及增強免疫功能的藥材，日本知名良藥「救心」的成份中，就含有白奇楠。
