本拍品為徠卡MDa的原型機，機身頂蓋未刻有「MDa」字樣或正式序號，只刻有「Leitz」字樣。機背亦沒有刻上「M」及「X」與產地；回片杆、自拍杆與快速上片裝置均為M4特徵，加上成色上佳，極為罕見。此機配機身蓋。
