Hong Kong became a key export hub for Liu Bao tea, where a distinctive tea known as "Hong Kong Liu Bao" emerged to meet growing market demand. Local tea merchants often blended Liu Bao with Pu-er, carrying out fermentation and piling before packing the teas into bamboo baskets for export across Southeast Asia. These Hong Kong-processed Liu Bao teas feature mixed coarse and fine strips, developing an aged character reminiscent of Pu-er stored in traditional Hong Kong warehouses. This lot represents an original Hong Kong Liu Bao in its intact bamboo basket, well-preserved with glossy dark leaves and a mellow, full-bodied aroma.
