LOT: 158
A Can of Aged White Tea, Circa 1960s
ESTIMATE:HK$ 180,000 - 260,000
Year: Circa 1960s
Category: White Tea
Storage: Dry Storage
Quantity: A Can
Total Weight: Approx. 2kg

This lot weighs approximately 2kg. Crafted in the traditional style with one bud and three to four leaves, the tea has developed a gentle herbal fragrance and a mellow medicinal character after years of dry storage. To facilitate export, the leaves were finely cut and shredded, a process which further enhances aging. Though white tea has been an important export since the Qing dynasty, limited production and low yields make surviving examples exceedingly rare.
